How to Reduce Food Waste and Save Money in the Kitchen

Smart strategies for shopping, storing and cooking more efficiently

How often do we buy food with the best intentions, only to end up throwing it away because we forgot about it in the fridge or stored it incorrectly?

The New Home Economics is a practical course designed for anyone who wants to organise their kitchen more efficiently, reduce food waste and learn how to manage everyday grocery shopping in a smarter way. This hands-on programme combines household budgeting, proper food storage and creative leftover cooking, turning simple daily habits into practical tools for saving money and improving well-being.

Through real-life examples, professional advice and solutions that can be applied immediately at home, you will learn how to organise your pantry, refrigerator and freezer, plan your food consumption, keep ingredients fresh for longer and make the most of foods and prepared dishes that too often end up unnecessarily in the bin.

The course is divided into three sessions, each dedicated to one of the key stages of food management:

BEFORE – Store Food Properly to Waste Less
How to shop more consciously, organise food storage spaces correctly and keep ingredients fresh for longer.

DURING – Use Food at the Right Time
How to manage expiry dates, plan meals and use ingredients according to their consumption priorities, preventing food from being forgotten or spoiling.

AFTER – Reuse with Creativity
How to transform leftovers, trimmings and surplus ingredients into new, delicious, practical and affordable dishes.

The goal is simple: spend more wisely, eat better and throw away less. Reducing waste does not mean giving something up; it means learning to make the most of what we already have, improving kitchen organisation, the household budget and our relationship with food.

Join us and discover how to turn every everyday choice in the kitchen into an opportunity for saving, awareness and creativity.
